- For SCL, Synopsys recommends single (not redundant) license servers with the following system hardware & configuration:
- x86_64 processor
- OS: a 64-bit server running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.x/5.x or Solaris 10
- UltraSPARC or x86_64 processor (AMD/Intel)
- Multiple CPUs or cores
- 2 GHz CPU speed or better
- 4 GB of RAM
- 1 Gbit Ethernet network card & 1 Gbit switch
- Adequate soft file descriptors (typically 8192)
- Note:

IMPORTANT:SCL 11.1 or later is required to serve cvd-format licenses for tools based on the Synplicity synplctyd daemon. The following limitations apply:
- For Synplicity tools, if you have a dongle on a Linux platform, you must install the 32-bit binaries (for example, "linux" or "suse32"). You can run the 32-bit daemon on a 64-bit OS.
- For Synplicity tools, if you are using a Sun Solaris SPARC 64-bit platform, you must install the 32-bit "sparcOS5" binary.
