The new Synopsys 90nm Generic Library is now available for University Program members to use in teaching IC design. This new library enables students to master advanced design methods, such as low power, using the latest Synopsys EDA tools. The library is also completely compatible with the OpenSPARC architecture as tested and verified by Sun Microsystems.

Synopsys is pleased to announce the Synplicity University Program has officially merged with the Synopsys University Program further enhancing our offering of industry-leading EDA tools and resources for teaching and academic research. The Synopsys University Program now features FPGA, DSP synthesis and ASIC prototyping products from the Synplicity Business Group.

The OpenSPARC Workshop will be given by designers, developers, and programmers who worked on the creation of the UltraSPARC T1 and T2 microprocessors. The workshop is intended to assist lecturers as they teach the next generation of engineers, developers and designers. (April 23-24, 2009)
